The intention is to enable the channels extending through the components made from ceramic or fireproof material to be produced economically, the channels having smooth walls and edges, and a further object being to provide the channels with very narrow or small cross-sections. To this end, a mould core which corresponds to the shape of the channel to be produced is immersed in a molten lubricant which is solid at environmental temperature. The mould core, provided with the solidified lubricant, is clamped into a mould in such a manner that at least one end of the core projects from the component which is subsequently to be produced. The raw material for the component is then introduced into the mould, and heat is applied to the mould core after the component has solidified, so that the lubricant layer melts and the mould core can be withdrawn from the component. |
