PURPOSE:To enable rear-wheel steering with high reliability with a simple structure by moving a transmission gear with a defined shape in the vehicle width direction by the rotation of an input shaft and steering rear wheels when a front-wheel steering angle which is transmitted to the input shaft of a rear- wheel steering device exceeds a defined value. CONSTITUTION:At the time of the straight traveling of a vehicle, the engaging position between a pinion 13 on an input shaft 12 to which front-wheel side steering force is transmitted and a transmission gear 16 is the center position of the curved-face outer teeth portion L1 of the transmission gear 16. In this condition, as front wheels are steered with the steering angle thereof exceeding a defined value, the engaging position between the pinion 13 and the transmission gear 16 comes to a parallel outer teeth portion 12. As the slotted hole 18 of the transmission gear 16 agrees with the slotted hole 20 of a slider 19, the rotation of the pinion 13 is transmitted to the parallel outer teeth portion L2, to move the transmission gear 16 right-left directions. As a result, the slider 19 is moved via a connecting portion consisting of the projecting portion 17 of the transmission gear 16 and the cut-out 21 of the slider 19, steering rear wheels via tie rods 10L, 10R. |
