PURPOSE:To improve durability and reliability by engaging a pair of pinions including the pinion on a transmission shaft for transmitting a steering force from a front wheel steering device with rack teeth on a copy groove formed on a slider, to from a rear wheel steering device. CONSTITUTION:When a rear wheel steering device is in a straight advancing condition as shown in the figure, when front wheels are steered, e.g., leftward wit the steering operating force being inputted into a transmission shaft 12 rotating a first pinion 13A rightward (F4 direction), a second pinion 13B engaged therewith is rotated leftward. The pinions 13A, 13B are engaged with rack teeth 21A, 21B respectively and, when a front wheel steering angle exceeds a defined value, the pinions 13A, 13B arrive at a horizontal portion on the upper portion of a copy groove 21 and only the first pinion 13A is engaged with the horizontal portion of the rack teeth 21A. Due to the rotation of this first pinion 13A, a slider 20 is moved leftward causing rear wheels to be steered via a rod 16. |
