PURPOSE:To enable discharge of paper always in satisfactory condition if the thickness of paper to be used is different, by providing a first ejecting member, supporting the rear of paper, which consists of a spurwheel and a roller and selecting between the spur and the roller for feeding paper depending on its type. CONSTITUTION:In printing of ordinary-type paper such as copying paper, the paper is moved to an area outside the printing range of paper of a ejecting roller 11 on a printing surface side, and the paper is lifted up by an ejecting roller 9 and a spurwheel 10. Then the paper is fed even after the tip of the paper is ejected from a prepinch roller 3, and is printed. After printing, the paper is ejected to a stacker. In the meantime, when lateral printing is performed on post cards, the ejecting roller 11 on the printing surface side is moved to a horizontal printing blank (outside the spurwheel 10) alongside the post card (only the ejecting roller 11 on the printing surface side is pressed against the ejecting roller 9 because the diameter of the ejecting roller 11 is larger than that of the spurwheel 10). Consequently, the post card is pulled upward by a powerful feed force given by the spurwheel 10 and the ejecting roller 9 and ejected to the stacker by the ejecting roller 9 and the ejecting roller 11 on the printing surface side. |
