A device for scanning ferromagnetic articles with welded joints during their remote control comprises a self-propelled carriage (1) for scanning the article, provided with driving and driven wheels, converters (9) fixed behind the carriage and intended for ultrasonic inspection of the article, a television camera (14) mounted on the self-propelled carriage (1) and a unit for controlling recording of the article inspection. The device further comprises a transport carriage (17) provided with a platform (16), with driven and driving wheels and moving along the inspected article, whereas the self-propelled carriage (1) is interconnected with the transport carriage (17) so that during the delivery of the self-propelled carriage (1) to the inspection zone it is placed on the transport carriage (17) and during the inspection it is able to move independently along the surface of the article inspected.
