The plasma arc torch is used for fusion/deoxidation of metal/metal oxides or heat treatment etc.. The upper part of the torch comprises a fixing device (2) of a cathode rod (1) and a cap (5) tightening a pipe for discharging cooling water. The lower part comprises a holding device (13) of the cathode rod supported by a plate (14), and a ring-shaped nozzle (16) forming a cooling space with a lower inner wall of an electrically positive body (10). The inner part comprises a casing (15) filled with cooling water, supply passages of cooling water and plasma, the electrically positive body, and insulators (11,12,15,19) between the casing (15) and the electrically positive body.
