摘要 PURPOSE:To obtain electrostrictive materials which have the large amount of displacement and the small amount of hysteresis as well, by adding Th compounds to a magnetic composite having a specific composition so that the compounding ratio of metallic ingredients is a specific one. CONSTITUTION:A fine positioning electrostriction element is obtained by adding Th compounds to a ceramic composite which is expressed by a composition of [PbxBa1-x] [ZryTi1-y]Oz (ranges of x and y are 0.55<=x<=0.70 and 0.45<=y<=0.80, and z is a value determined according to the oxidation state of respective elements), in such a way that the compounding ratio of metallic ingredients is 1-10mol%. The Th compounds comprises each oxide, nitride, fluoride and the like and any of them is available irrespective of the kind of the used Th compound. Having a very limited amount of hysteresis, the electrostriction element is utilized as a fine positioning one and then, it hysteresis decreases to a value of about one-fifth.
