<p>PURPOSE:To realize the quick and accurate selection of menus by using the higher rank layer menu items to display previously and en bloc all lower rank layer menus for all higher rank layer menus. CONSTITUTION:A menu display device consists of a keyboard 1, a display device 2, a CPU 3, a main memory 4, and a menu data memory 5. The memory 5 includes a menu control area 52 and a sub-menu control area 53 and the data on the memory 5 are replaced by the systems of a graphic editor, an image editor, etc., in accordance with their states. Then the higher rank layer menu items are added to display previously and en bloc all lower rank layer menus for all higher rank layer items. Thus it is possible to instantaneously refer to a list of all lower rank layer menu items at selection of items and to clearly discriminate the available functions from unavailable ones at the present time point for each item.</p> |
