PURPOSE:To retard the reaction of manganese dioxide with propylene carbonate and to efficiently manufacture a battery having good storage performance by treating manganese dioxide with polyacid. CONSTITUTION:In an organic electrolyte battery having a negative electrode 1 using an alkali metal such as lithium as a negative active material, a positive electrode 5 using manganese dioxide as a positive active material, and an organic electrolyte, manganese dioxide is treated with polyacid. Manganese dioxide is stabilized and reactivity of manganese dioxide with propylene carbonate is decreased. Since the reaction of manganese dioxide with propylene carbonate during storage is retarded, an organic electrolyte battery having good storage performance is efficiently manufactured. |
