PURPOSE:To retard coming off of an active material from a substrate and to prevent decrease in active material caused by elution by filling a zinc active material in a metallic porous substrate, then coating with a mixed solution of fluororesin dispersion and paste material to form a mixed layer. CONSTITUTION:A porous metal having three-dimensional, continuous pores is used as a substrate. The substrate is filled with a zinc active material, then coated with a mixed solution of fluororesin dispersion and paste material to form these mixed layer on its surface. When a battery is fabricated, the active material is held with the paste material and sticking to a separator is prevented. Since contact between the substrate and the active material is made uniform even when charge-discharge is repeated, the reaction of a zinc electrode is uniformly advanced. Since the fluororesin exists on the surface of the zinc electrode, the active material is steadily fixed, and the elution and deformation of the zinc electrode is retarded. |
