METHOD AND EQUIPMENT FOR TESTING OPTO-TRANSCEIVER

PURPOSE:To facilitate the test by sending a packet signal for test to an optical transmission line via an opto-transceiver and comparing the packet signal for test returned from an optical transmission line to the opto-transceiver with a reference packet signal of the same pattern as that of the packet signal for test to be sent so as to check the error of a data. CONSTITUTION:A means sending the packet signal for test to an optical transmission line via opto-transceivers 2A, 2N and a means receiving the packet signal for test from the optical transmission line via the opto-transceivers 2A-2N, comparing it with a reference packet signal to detect a data error are provided to the title device. Thus, the test is conducted at a location where the opto-transceivers 2A-2N to be tested are installed, man-hour required for the work is decreased and the need of conducting the test while communicating with other test location is avoided and the test is conducted simply and surely.
