PURPOSE:To surely write information by narrowing an information writing part, where a shutter means narrower than a writing means of width below a maximum image forming range on an image carrier shields light made incident on the image carrier, rather than the shutter. CONSTITUTION:A writing unit 71 of width smaller than half of the maximum copying width of a photosensitive drum 10 is provided close to the drum 10, and writes information such as required characters as well as an original image. The full length A of an LED array 71b in the unit 71 is longer by delta in both lateral directions than the width B of the shutter 71f. When the width B is equal to or less than the length A, the shutter 71f shields incident light Bi to lengthen the width of electrical charges remaining on the drum 10 rather than the A. Therefore, the array 71b cannot remove the electric charges, and when development is made, black lines corresponding to both sides of the array 71b remain. However, the length A is longer than the width B, and a part corresponding to a character is lit in the LED 71c, with the width C of the character narrower than the width B. In the part going off within the width C in the LED 71c, the electric charges of the drum 10 exist, from which the character turns into a visible image by development. |
