<p>PURPOSE:To damp the output voltage of an AC generator quickly to zero by consuming the residual energy of a field winding by a resistor arranged in series with the field winding when the AC generator is stopped. CONSTITUTION:A contactor contact 10 is held under an ON state during the operation of an AC generator 1. When the AC generator 1 is stopped, a transistor 8 is brought to a completely conductive state, and all field currents are bypassed through the transistor 8. A contactor 9 is turned ON, and currents extracted from a reactor 3 and a current transformer 4 are short-circuited. The contactor contact 10 is turned OFF at the same time as these operation, and field currents generated by residual energy by the inductance of a field winding 2 are circulated and consumed. Accordingly, the output voltage of the AC generator is brought quickly to zero.</p> |
