The epoxy resin for cast molding insulator of electric component is composed of 100 parts epoxy resin (epoxy equiv. is lower than 200), 0.5-10 part phenoxy resin (I;n=100), curing agent and inorganic filler. The curing agent is prepd. by condsn. of 100 parts multi- basic carboxylic anhydride and 40-60 parts bisphenol A. Thus, 102 parts epoxy resin melting mixt. of 100 parts bisphenol A type spoxy resin and 0.5 parts phenoxy resin, 95 parts condsn. mixt. of 65 parts methyl-THPA and 30 parts bisphenol A, 1 parts zinc octylate and 510 parts alumina powder are stirred at 60≦̸C under vacuum to give the epoxy resin.
