PURPOSE: To optimize the spatial and temporary resolution of a compressed signal by selecting the position of a sampling mask while avoiding selecting current images at such two positions that an image point spatially corresponding to approximate projection. CONSTITUTION: For use for the subsampling of a noninterlaced image source, the subsampling is carried out with a packet consisting of four successive image sequences (t), t+1, t+2, and t+3. When an even parity velocity vector Vy is 0, the image t+2 is subsampled by removing an image line 32 almost corresponding to the projection of a line 30 transmitted during the sampling of the image (t). For the purpose, only a line 33 is held during the sampling. Consequently, the image t+2 can completely be reconstituted since it is reconstituted directly from the line 30 of the image (t) by knowing the velocity vector Vy having the line 32 given in reconstitution auxiliary data. |
