SCRAP TREATING METHOD AND DEVICE THEREFOR

PURPOSE:To make it easy to treat scraps at an after-step by a method wherein both of the longitudinal edges of a strip are subjected to trimming after they are notched. CONSTITUTION:The strip P is thrusted against the circumferential surface of a notch plate by a notcher 13 and notches N extending in the direction of the width of the strip P are formed at required intervals with respect the progressing direction of the strip P. The longitudinal edges of the notched strip are then subjected to side trimming at portions lying somewhat inside toward the center of the rolled strip P. The strip P subjected to the side trimming is transfered to the after step but the scraps S generating as a result of the side trimming are transferred to a guide 26 in the form of a band and are broken to fine pieces at the notches N by hitting against a back plate 28.
