PURPOSE:To reduce the amount of adhesion of the electrode wire to a workpiece by using the electrode wire comprising a core wire made of an alloy of Cu added with Zn and Al and a Zn layer or both of a Ni layer and the Zn layer formed on the core wire. CONSTITUTION:The core wire is made of the copper alloy including 5-40% by weight of Zn, 10.5-4% by weight of Al and Cu for the rest. Then the Zn layer if 20-40mu in thickness is formed on the core wire or the Ni layer of 0.01-0.05mu in thickness are formed on the core wire to thereby produce the electrode wire. The above mentioned core wire material is expanded continuously up to 0.2mm. in diameter and then plated with Zn in a Zn plating tank directly or after it is plated with Ni in an Ni plating tank. |
