PURPOSE:To transfer thermoplastic magnetic ink efficiently even when thick paper to be transferred is used by asymmetrically installing a magnetic member mounted to the back section of a thermal head to a straight line passing through the center of a heating element vertical to the main scanning direction. CONSTITUTION:Attraction force (Fy) in the direction of a magnetic head 9 working on ink 4 is increased by fitting a magnetic member 1 to the back section of a thermal head 2 while force (Fx) in the direction opposite to the main scanning direction works on ink 4 by asymmetrically installing the magnetic member 1 to a straight line passing through the center of the heating element 2 vertical to the main scanning direction. Consequently, magnetic attraction force operating on the thermoplastic magnet ink 4 is represented by the resultant force, FM2, of Fy and Fx, the sudden decrease of FM due to the increase of (y) can be inhibited, and strong magnetic attraction force can be operated on said ink 4 within a practical range shown in an oblique line in Fig. (c). Since an angle formed by the direction of magnetic attraction and the direction of magnetic flux is shaped in an acute angle, the melting viscosity of the thermoplastic magnetic ink 4 is lowered, thus allowing transfer to a medium to be transferred 6. |
