A working cabinet (10), in particular a microbiological clean room cabinet, has a transparent front screen (32) which can move up and down and which in a lower working position borders an opening situated between its lower side (38) and a cabinet bottom (12), through which opening access to the interior (24) is possible. In the working space (24) a flow (26) directed from top to bottom prevails. The lower side of the screen (32) is furnished with a profile (40) which has a bulge directed into the working space (24) in the region of the internal edge of the front wall, so that the layer flowing along the interior (31) of the front screen (32) flows out over the lower side (38) of the front screen (32) without turbulence and the flow detachment area is displaced in the direction of an active region of a cabinet-bottom-side suction orifice (29) (Fig. 1). <IMAGE>
