PURPOSE:To improve the turning round property in the early stage of steering by steering left and right rear wheels to toe-in state when the steering angle is below a determined angle, and steering the rear wheels to the antiphase to the front wheels when the steering angle exceeds the determined angle. CONSTITUTION:The lower end of a piston rod 20 protruded slantingly downward from a hydraulic cylinder 18 is fixed to a rear wheel steering device body. At electronic control unit 21 controls opening/closing of a relief valve 22 of the oil passage according to a car speed signal and a steering angle signal. When the car speed is below a determined speed, or when the speed is not lower than the determined speed but the steering angle is a determined angle or more, a relief valve 22 is maintained in the opened state to supply no pressure oil to the hydraulic cylinder 18, so that the rear steering device is not driven, and thus the rear wheels are not steered. When the speed is the determined value or more, and the steering angle is below the determined value, the relief valve 22 is closed to supply pressure oil to the hydraulic cylinder, so that the rear wheels are steered. |
