Isolating converter having a pulse-width modulator

The isolating converter described comprises a pulse-width modulator (PWM) which emits two pulse-width modulating switching pulses (LA, LB). The switching pulses are shifted with respect to each other by one half period of an unmodulated pulse. The isolating converter furthermore comprises an output filter (C2, L1, C3). In order to reduce the spatial dimensions of the isolating means (U1, U2) of the converter as well as the expenditure on parts for the output filter (C2, L1, C3), provision is made to provide the isolating converter with two switching transistors (S1, S2) which are each controlled by one of the two switching pulses (LA, LB). Two transformers (U1, U2), whose primary winding (n1, m1) is mounted in series with the contact path of each of the two switching transistors (S1, S2) are charged with the power transmission of the loads connected to the converter. The two series circuits, each consisting of the secondary winding (n2, m2) of one of the transformers (U1, U2) and a diode (D2, D3), are connected in parallel to the input of the output filter (C2, L1, C3). <IMAGE>
