PURPOSE:To enable the printing of image information for only a specified area, by a method wherein an operator displays two straight lines on an image plane of a video display each in a horizontal and vertical directions by using a coordinate indicator and specifies a rectangular area to be printed while watching the image plane. CONSTITUTION:With the input of a straight line number and a numeric value representing a coordinate value from a ten key of a coordinate display 10, the respective coordinate values are written into an appropriate register group 12a in an area control circuit 12. While holding the positional information for a specified rectangular area in the built-in register group 12a, the area control circuit 12 generates video signals for representing lines 13a, 13b, 14a and 14b by two lines vertically/horizontally on an image plane according to the positional information, issues a synthesized signal of said signal with a normal video signal to a video output terminal 2, outputs a horizontally and vertically masking signal for masking image information out of a specified area from among segment information transmitted from a sampling circuit 3 to a gate 11 through an AND gate 20, and transfers the masked segment information to a segment memory 4. Thus, the information for only the appropriate area is printed by a print part 5. |
