In a process for treating granular slag formed in blast furnaces, and in particular during the production of hematite iron and phosphoric iron, the granular slag is introduced into a washing and rinsing unit (1) to remove, by attrition and in a countercurrent of flowing water at neutral pH, fine particles less than 80 micrometres in size. The washed granular slag is screened (2) and then stored in a dump of limited height in order to reduce its moisture content to approximately 10 %. Also described is an installation for implementing the process. Application to the steelmaking industry or industry in general.
|
