Plaster for drug formulations

In order to improve the absorption of medicaments the plaster is formed of a support of open-cell, elastic foam with technically produced recesses of different geometries for the reception of drug formulations, a mechanical separating layer on the upper side facing away from the skin and an adhesive tape of an elastic closed-cell foam, support and adhesive edge being bonded on the top side with an elastic covering film, and which possesses a peelable protective film on the lower side. Simultaneous use of different foam polymers in the region of the plaster support and of the adhesive areas, application of technically produced recesses in the region of the support as depots for semi-solid and solid drug forms, and introduction of a separating layer result in advantages as regards the medical effectiveness and practical handling for dermal and transdermal drug applications.
