A haymaking machine having a three-wheel or four-wheel chassis and a supporting structure (1) and machine frame (2), the supporting structure (1) and machine frame (2) are connected to one another via a compensating device allowing an angular movement. The compensating device is constructed from four-bar mechanisms (51, 52, 53) or from a slotted guide and thus allows a transverse axis of rotation (3) which runs near the ground and through which passes a tensile or compressive force generated by a tractor. Devices, the compensating devices of which allow rotation about two axes, are also described. <IMAGE>
