The invention relates to a coin-operated game device having flip-card carousels which are arranged in two rows one above the other and the flip cards of which bear a symbol, which contributes to deciding the game, in alternating fashion just on the front side or on the rear side, and which carousels, after they have been whirled, stop in a display position which conceals the symbols of all the visible pairs of flip cards. The game device furthermore has a points display for each flip-card carousel row, forming a playing position, in which the value of the points made in the associated row by the visible symbols can be shown, and also has a microcomputer for controlling the entire playing sequence. The subject-matter of the invention is distinguished in that at least one flip-card carousel (5) is assigned an acoustic and/or optical display which emits a perceivable signal when that flip-card pair (13) of this flip-card carousel (5), which pair is situated in the concealed display position, is apparantly advanced, either by button control or computer control, by a step. At the same time, the points value of the symbol, which can thus not be ascertained yet, can be shown in a special points display (18 or 40), which only the player of the playing position to which the flip-card carousel (5) belongs can see into, and the invention is furthermore distinguished in that this points value can be transferred during further progress of the game into the points display (16 or 17) which is allocated to this playing position and can be seen by anyone. <IMAGE>
