PURPOSE:To provide a compact connector capable of perfect connection by providing a press member of shape memory alloy which crimps connection terminals and an external electric armature so as to release or deform crimping. CONSTITUTION:A press member 5 is varied such that it is stretches when temperature rises, whereas shrinks when the temperature falls. The press member 5 of shape memory alloy composed of such as Ti-Ni, Cu-Zn-Al and Cu-Al-Ni is deformed into a memorized shape at a temperature about 100 deg.C. Furthermore, the press member 5 is deformed into a arc when heated by a soldering iron. After that, with sliding a plate 21 under the press member 5, an end portion of FPC6(a flexible circuit board) is inserted into an opening 7. Under the state, the press member 5 is splayed with such as liquefaction gas to be cooled down. When the temperature returns a room temperature, the press member 5 shrinks to be deformed to press FPC6 downwards through the plate 21 so as to engage FPC6 with a notch 10. A connector 2 is thus made compact. |
