PURPOSE: To inactivate prekallikrein activator and obtain a blood product preparation free from risk of adverse reactions by adding (immobilized) chymotrypsin to fractions at any stage of fractionation process when plasma protein is fractioned and concentrated. CONSTITUTION: When blood product preparations (especially albumin preparation, immunoglobulin-G preparation) are produced from human or animal blood plasma by fractionation treatment for fractionating and concentrating plasma protein, dissolved chymotrypsin or immobilized chymotrypsin (preferably immobilized in sepharose) is added to fractions at any state of a fractionation process and chymotrypsin is removed before completion of the fractionation process and the resultant plasma protein is processed to provide the final preparations. Removal of chymotrypsin is carried out by precipitation of plasma protein due to protein-precipitating agent when the dissolved chymotrypsin is used or by removal of a solid substance when the immobilized chymotrypsin is used. |
