PURPOSE:To obtain an anticancer drug which contains as an active ingrdient a sulfate or its salt by extracting and separating a betel palm as a raw material with methanol and water and furthermore fractionating, separating and purifying it. CONSTITUTION:The title substance is an anticancer drug which contains at least one substance selected from the group consisting of sulfates and salts of NF-861, NF-86II, NPF-861A, NPF-861B, NPF-86IIA and NPF-86IIB having specified physicochemical properties. NF-861 and NF-86II are obtd. by, e.g., the following method. Namely, a betel palm as a raw material is degreased with a solvent and then extracted with methanol. Then, the extract is dried and extracted with water. The aq. soln. of the extract is purified with a non- hydrophilic org. solvent and the obtd. aq. soln. is fractionated by means of a dialysis tube. Active substances fractionated into fractions having MW of 1,000-10,000 and 100,000 or larger are named NF-861 and NF-86II, respectively. These fractions are furthermore separated and purified by means of high performance liq. chromatography to obtain NPF-861A, NPF-861B, NPF-86IIA and NPF-86IIB. |
