PURPOSE:To completely prevent a magnet from being damaged by a method wherein a heater wire is connected between terminals of a coil of at least the innermost layer, and the heater wire is made in contact with a superconducting wire forming another coil or wound into a superconducting wire. CONSTITUTION:Superconducting coils 8, 9 located inside and outside respectively are located in a cryostat L and heater wires 10, 11 are wound into superconducting wires of the coils 9, 8, respectively. In such a magnet 7, if the inner coil 8 is quenched, voltage is generated at both ends of it and the heater wire 10 is heated. As a result, the coil 9 is also quenched, preventing 1 magnet from being damaged. |
