[Also in Divisions B2, B5 and Dl] A composite panel comprises a fibrous layer and groups of parallel metal wires or rods disposed on either side of the layer, the wires or rods of the groups being differently oriented and being welded to each other at intersection points either directly through the layer or through perforations in the layer. Welding is effected by means of moving electrodes 16, each under the action of a cam 17 and a return spring 18, which urge each wire intersection on to a lower fixed electrode 19. |
