PURPOSE:To obtain a hair rearing agent containing a pyridine N-oxide derivative or salt thereof as an active ingredient, exhibiting excellent trichogen promoting action and useful in prevention and remedy for juvenile alopecia. CONSTITUTION:A compound expressed by the formula [R<1> is sulfo or a group expressed by the formula-(Q-COOH)n (Q is single bond or alkylene which may be substituted; n is 1-3); R<2> and R<3> are H, halogen, lower alkyl, lower alkoxy or lower alkoxycabonyl except when R<1> is -(COOH)n and R<2> and R<3> are simultaneously H] or salt thereof is mixed at an amount of 0.01-5wt.% and the mixture is suitably blended with diluent, cream base agent, vitamin, scalp stimulating agent, dye, perfume, etc., and prepared according to an ordinary method to provide the aimed product. The aimed product can be prepared in the form of agent for dermal administration such as solution or cream, inhalant, granule, tablet, ointment, liquid medicine, suspension, capsule, etc. In the case of dermal administration, the agent is applied at an amount of 0.02-0.1ml per cm<2> scalp daily once or several times and in the case of oral administration, the agent is administered in an amount of 0.1-10mg/kg daily. |
