A chuck allowing to mount a cutting tool on the spindle of a machine tool. The chuck includes an ahead projecting chuck cylinder (13) provided on the one side of a chuck body (10) in a mated fashion to each other, and a tightening rotary sleeve (14) mounted through needle rollers (15) outside the chuck sleeve (14), in addition, slits (16) configured in the top end part of the chuck cylinder (13), wherein the rotation of the tightening rotary sleeve (14) cause the slits (16) to contract so that a cutting tool is gripped. |
