Vehicle struts in which it is intended to install ball joints obliquely with respect to the strut longitudinal axis are at present produced using forging techniques. In this case, the housing for the ball joint is forged at the desired angle. It is now intended to produce the vehicle strut using the extrusion process and to permit the installation of a ball joint housing at the predetermined angle. For this purpose, the ball joint housing has two holes (1,2) which run inwards from mutually opposite sides of the housing and join one another inside the housing at an angle alpha , the outer surface of the housing in the region where the holes join having a collar-shaped circumferential centring and bearing surface (4) and the housing wall having a circumferential notch (16) with respect to the open side of the hole (1), which notch (16) opens into two annular connecting pieces (5, 6) for attachment to the vehicle strut (10) or to the joint shell (13).
