PURPOSE:To readily obtain a single crystal oxide superconductor having large diameter free from twin crystal, by adding an alkaline metallic salt to a specific oxide superconductor raw material, melting under heating and cooling. CONSTITUTION:1mol oxide superconductor raw material which consists of at least one element selected from Y and rare earth element, Ba, Cu and O and a stoichiometric composition LnBa2Cu2Ox (Ln and Y are rare earth element; x is 6.5-7) is blended with 0.01-10mol mixture of a composition which consists of a composition having a composition ratio of CuO/BaCO3 in the range of 5/95-100/0mol/mol and an alkali metallic salt AB (A is alkali metal; B i salt) and has a composition ratio of the composition and the alkali metallic salt AB of (CuO/BaCO3)/AB of 99.99/0.01-50/50mol/mol, heated at 1,050-1,500 deg.C and cooled at 1-300 deg.C/h cooling rate. |
