The process for isomerisation of n-butenes is carried out over solid-bed catalysts. In order to convert n-but-1-ene into but-2-ene, it is proposed to isomerise n-but-1-ene in the gas phase over a catalyst containing superacid fluorine compounds of elements from main group III, IV and/or V of the periodic table in the absence of hydrogen. In order to obtain high yields of but-2-ene, which upon alkylation using isobutane produces petrol components having high octane numbers, the use of an H2SiF6/Al2O3 catalyst has proven to be particularly suitable. |
