PURPOSE:To obtain the title binder of low thermal shrinkage in a high temperature range esp. exceeding 1,300 deg.C, by blending an aluminum primary phosphate derivative with silicon nitride or silicon carbide in specified proportion. CONSTITUTION:The objective binder comprising an aluminum primary phosphate and silicon nitride and/or silicon carbide in the weight ratio: 1-6. The other objective adhesive incorporated with 8-20wt.% of said binder. Said aluminum primary phosphate derivative to be used is, e.g., aluminum primary acid phos phate of the chemical formula Al2O3.3P2O5.6H2O, a product prepared by adding boric acid and/or borate to said primary acid phosphate, another product pre pared by adding metallic oxide(s) such as magnesium oxide and/or chromium oxide to said product. |
