An electrophotographic photoreceptor has a light-sensitive layer on an electroconductive base. The lights-sensitive layer contains at least one carrier transport material represented by the following general formula (I): <CHEM> where Ar1 and Ar2 each represents an aryl group; Ar3 represents an arylene group; Ar4 represents a p-phenylene or naphthylene group; R1 and R2 each represents an alkyl or aralkyl group; and each of these groups may optionally have a substituent.
