The invention relates to a cross-country ski binding. The ski binding has a holding shell, which is pivotable about a transverse axis, for receiving a cross-country ski boot. The sole of the cross-country ski boot is provided with upper and lower guide surfaces which interact with the base plate and upper holding strips of the holding shell.
