The present invention relates to an installation for depositing and packaging food products of various shapes, for example minced-meat steaks (beefburgers). This installation of the type comprising a machine 14 for thermoforming cells 13, a device 3 for automatic transportation of the products 11 supplied in a row by a proportioning machine 1 and a machine 14 for packaging by application of a film over the cells 13, includes actuating means 4 making it possible to turn through 90 DEG the path of the formed products 11 conveyed in a row parallel to the thermoforming chain in order to bring them to alignment and transfer means 5 intended to transfer them to a depositing station 12 where provision is made for selective means for deposition of the products 11 into the cells 13 before a film is applied to them at the packaging station 14. <IMAGE>
