The invention relates to a method for the deep and dynamic compacting of grounds, of the type according to which a very heavy pile is dropped from a great height. With the aid of at least one accelerometer placed on the pile 2 data is transmitted relating to the dynamic characteristics of the shock of the pile on the compacted ground; this data is gathered on a receiver 6 arranged on or in conjunction with the pile-lifting plant; this data is processed by a microprocessor in order to extract therefrom a characteristic value of the compacting and the compacting is automatically interrupted when the said characteristic value has reached the minimum required level. <IMAGE>
