PURPOSE:To satisfactorily prevent fogging from being caused by a perfume and contrive diversification of fragrance by providing an intermediate layer between a thermal recording layer and a fragrant layer comprising a perfume, in a thermal recording material comprising the thermal recording layer and the fragrant layer. CONSTITUTION:A thermal recording material comprises basically a support 1, a thermal recording layer 2, a fragrant layer 3 comprising a perfume, and an intermediate layer 4 provided between the recording layer 2 and the fragrant layer 3, with an under coat layer 5 optionally provided. With the fragrant layer 3 provided on the upper side of the recording layer 2, a fragrance can be generated effectively. A material for forming the intermediate layer may be, for example, an emulsion of a high molecular weight substance such as polyvinyl alcohol and derivatives thereof, starch and derivatives thereof and a vinylidene chloride copolymer. Among the high molecular weight substances, a water-soluble one is preferred from the viewpoint of a fogging color development preventive effect, and polyvinyl alcohol and derivatives thereof are particularly preferable. When a crosslinking agent is jointly used in the intermediate layer, an intermediate layer more excellent in the fogging color development preventive effect and having excellent water resistance and barrier properties can be obtained. |
