The present invention relates to a clasp intended to join the two end strands of a flexible elongate object, such as a bracelet, a belt or another object, this clasp consisting of two pieces 1, 2, each of which has a free front part and a rear part carrying a means for fastening to a respective end strand, these two pieces also being equipped with lockable mutual coupling means enabling them to be secured to each other. According to the invention, these coupling means comprise, on the inner face of a first piece 2 of the clasp, two snap-fitting members (snout 5 and rear edge 9a of an aperture 9) which are separate from one another and capable of bearing against corresponding retention members (lateral cheeks 12, 13 and inclined tongue 4) formed on the opposite face of the second piece 1 of the clasp, exerting on said retention members mutually directed forces, the plane of contact between each snap-fitting member and the one or more associated retention members also being slightly inclined towards the outside of the clasp. <IMAGE>
