PURPOSE:To display type numbers, low number, etc. of large quantity of information in an easy to see way by forming the punched part for character, figure, symbol, etc. to a part of the polarizing plate of a liquid crystal display by blanking or the like. CONSTITUTION:A cover plate 11 and a back plate 12 which are provided with desired transparent electrode patterns on their respective inside surfaces are placed so as to face each other at a prescribed space, and the circumference thereof is sealed with a sealant 13, whereafter a liquid crystal 14 is injected into the inside thereof. A polarizing plate 21 formed with punched parts of the shapes for characters, figures, symbols, etc. in a part thereof is adhered to a cover plate 11, and a polarizing plate 22 is adhered to the plate 12 in such a way that the axis of polarization thereof intersects orthogonally with the axis of polarization of the plate 21, whereby the intended liquid crystal display is obtained. Thus the easy to see transparent part formed with the shapes of characters, figures, symbols, etc. in the opaque part formed by the non-transmission of incident light through the liquid crystal display is formed. |
