PURPOSE:To enhance resolution and developed color density of images and reduce thermal curling after printing, by providing an undercoat layer of a specified composition comprising silica and a binder resin on a base for a sublimation transfer recording sheet, and providing a dye image-receiving layer on the undercoat layer. CONSTITUTION:An undercoat layer comprising as a main constituent a mixture of 30-80wt.% of silica and 20-70wt.% of a binder resin material is provided on at least one side of a sheet-shaped base, and a dye image-receiving layer is provided on the undercoat layer. A white inorganic pigment and/or organic pigment used for general coated papers may be jointly used as other pigment than silica, in the undercoat layer. An SBR latex, an acrylic acid ester copolymer or the like which has a glass transition point of not higher than 0 deg.C and is comparatively soft is used, either solely or jointly with other adhesive, as a main constituent of the binder resin material, for enhancing adhesion property to pigment particles. |
