PURPOSE:To cause a large change in the reflectance of a variable light reflecting film and to make the film applicable to an optical switch, etc. by using a material whose refractive index is changed when it is irradiated with light as the material of a part of a multilayered film and by amplifying the change in the refractive index by making use of interference phenomenon. CONSTITUTION:An interferential reflecting film is composed of multilayered dielectric films or thin metallic films 2 and a dielectric film 3. One or more layers of each of the multilayered dielectric films are made of a material whose refractive index is changed when it is irradiated with light. A compound of 1 or >=2 kinds of elements selected from P, As, Sb, Bi, Si, Ge, Sn, Pb and Zn with 1 or >=2 kinds of elements selected from S, Se and Te is used as said material. |
