Fastening device of a threaded component in a blind, undercut bore in which there is arranged a dowel which is slit longitudinally at the bore base and the expansion lugs of which are held by the threaded component such that they are expanded into the undercut. In order to improve the fastening device such that it can also be used for materials which are liable to break, such as glass, marble or the like, and that it can be used, in particular, for thin walls, it is configured such that the dowel, provided with an internal thread which permits longitudinal adjustment of the threaded component, is pre-formed at its inner end corresponding to the form of the undercut of the bore.
