A flexible laminated fabric suitable for making disposable articles such as household linen and underwear comprises at least one layer of combed and/or entangled fibres having a weight of from 18 to 25 grams per square metre and at least one layer of porous paper having a weight of from 15 to 20 grams per square metre, these layers being united by impregnating them, before or after assembly, with from 2 to 50% of an acrylic resin binder, e.g. polyisobutyl acrylate, and drying and calendering them. The binder may be applied as a solution or colloidal dispersion. There may be two layers of paper covering opposite surfaces of a non-woven fibre layer, or vice versa. In an example, the binder comprises an aqueous colloidal dispersion of: 20% polyisobutyl acrylate, 3-8% zinc oxide and/or 6-8% urea formaldehyde condensate. |
