The invention relates to a noise-suppression arrangement for reducing or suppressing interference signals ("noise") contained in a digital video signal. A two-picture (field) differential detector unit (27) receives the digital video signal and detects a two-picture (field) differential signal. A high-frequency-component filter unit (22) filters a high-frequency component of the digital video signal or a high-frequency component of the two-picture differential signal. A first suppression-signal generator unit (28) generates a first suppression signal corresponding to the two-picture differential signal. A (field) picture differential detector unit (32) receives the digital video signal and detects a picture differential signal. A low-frequency-component filter unit (23) filters a low-frequency component of the digital video signal or of the picture differential signal. A second suppression-signal generator unit (33) generates a second suppression signal corresponding to the picture differential signal. A noise-suppression unit (24, 30) removes the interference signal from the digital video signal in accordance with the first and second suppression signals. <IMAGE>
