Sensor device for the fuel level in a vehicle tank

A description is given of a sensor device (1) for the fuel level in a vehicle tank having a hollow body (2), in the interior of which a float (3) is provided, the position of which is a function of the fuel level in the tank. The device (1) comprises a measuring device (21, 22) for establishing the lowest level of the fuel, that is to say the position of the float (3) which lies nearest to the bottom (6) of the hollow body (2). This measuring device comprises at least one magnet (22) arranged on the float (3) and a magnetic switch (21), provided in the vicinity of the bottom (6) of the hollow body (2) and actuatable by the magnet (22), the said magnetic switch (21) being able to be connected in a current supply loop of a light source for indicating the lowest level of the fuel. <IMAGE>
